ICT Engineer

About the role

The ICT Engineer is the senior technical expert and ICT focal point for the assigned location. The role covers strategic planning, ICT management and operation of all ICT systems and services, aligned with ICRC ICT policies, international standards and global ICT strategy. It also includes leading ICT projects, managing the local ICT team and budget, and acting as escalation point for complex incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure, ensure ICT compliance, resilience and preparedness, and implement ICT policy
• Manage budgets and financials, and manage ICT assets
• Implement new ICT initiatives and projects, and lead change management
• Provide user support, service delivery and training, and handle unified communications and telecommunications including satellite and VHF/Radio
• Ensure data cleanliness and analysis, and provide site/visit reporting and technical documentation
• Manage stakeholders, engage with management and people, and guarantee business continuity and disaster recovery

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, telecommunications, electronics or a related field
• At least 7-8 years of progressive ICT infrastructure management experience, including at least 4 years as ICT Specialist 2, ICT Engineer, ICT Officer or equivalent in an international organization, NGO or corporate environment
• Experience with satellite communications (BGAN, IP Terminal, Starlink, Thuraya, Iridium), fiber optics and VHF/UHF radio in field or remote environments
• Excellent English and Urdu; additional local languages are an asset

Required skills

• ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management
• Enterprise networks (Fortinet ecosystem), SD-WAN, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Hyper-V and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
• Cybersecurity, firewall management, endpoint protection, vulnerability management and incident response
• ITIL and project management certifications are an asset; Microsoft MCSA level is an asset
