Senior Software Engineer – AI/LLM & RAG Backend

About the role

ibex. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and optimise AI‑driven backend systems. You will work on Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), and deliver scalable REST APIs for internal and external products.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain RAG pipelines using frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Integrate LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini) into AI‑centric applications.
• Set up and manage vector databases (Azure AI Search, Google Vector Search, PGVector, Pinecone, Milvus) for document storage and retrieval.
• Develop utilities for document preprocessing, chunking, and embedding generation.
• Build clean, maintainable Python REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask and ensure production‑grade scalability and reliability.
• Create ETL scripts and data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured sources.
• Monitor retrieval quality, update embeddings, and apply reranking techniques.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in Python development and AI/LLM integration.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with version control (Git), unit testing, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
