Unit Head Enterprise Risk Management

About the role

The Unit Head ERM is accountable for setting the bank's enterprise and operational risk architecture and embedding global best practice across both disciplines. Reporting to the Head of ERM, the role provides senior leadership, shapes risk strategy and appetite, and builds the consensus with executive management and the Board needed to implement them.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, approval and ongoing evolution of the bank's ERM framework and enterprise risk assessment matrix, securing endorsement from executive management and the Board.
• Set the enterprise risk taxonomy at Level 1 and Level 2, and lead the longer-term definition of Level 3 jointly with the ERM and ORM teams.
• Lead the redesign and simplification of incident management and risk and control assessment (RCSA) and their recording, driving consistent, high-quality risk data.
• Drive development of supporting risk frameworks by engaging senior stakeholders and benchmarking against global peers, and identify and hold framework owners to agreed standards.
• Establish enterprise risk appetite statements for all risk types and design the monitoring and escalation mechanisms agreed with business and risk leadership.
• Consolidate operational and enterprise risk data and present analytics and heat-maps to senior management and the Board.
• Act as the bank's champion for global ERM and ORM practice, leading gap assessments and roadmaps, advising senior management on emerging risks and building risk capability.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, business or a related field.
• 15+ years in banking, including 8+ years in senior enterprise or operational risk roles.
• Demonstrated record of leading ERM framework, risk taxonomy and risk appetite design and implementation at institutional level, with deep ORM expertise (incidents, RCSA, KRIs).
• Executive presence: influences senior management and the Board, leads cross-functional programs and builds high-performing teams.
