Unit Head SME Bank & MIS (AVP / VP)

About the role

National Bank of Pakistan is hiring a Unit Head for its SME Bank & MIS unit in Lahore, reporting to the Wing Head SME Bank & MIS. The role covers recovery, rehabilitation and portfolio management of the bank's non-performing assets, and is advertised as a three-year contractual position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Wing Head in developing and implementing the strategy for remedial management of the bank's non-performing portfolio.
• Help collect, process and formulate quarterly data, resolve discrepancies and internal audit queries, and review proposals for out-of-court settlements, rehabilitation, restructuring and rescheduling.
• Analyze the portfolio for write-off and waiver cases and implement approved rescheduling and restructuring in line with bank policy and State Bank of Pakistan regulations.
• Supervise the financial review of tagged accounts to identify risks, recovery prospects and opportunities, and manage legal review of accounts with the Legal and Credit Administration Divisions.
• Direct and oversee team members, allocate responsibilities and monitor performance against recovery and portfolio management targets.
• Supervise the preparation and timely submission of MIS, management reports and analytical updates.
• Ensure compliance with SBP Prudential Regulations, internal credit policies and the bank's delegated authority framework.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation from a university or college recognized by the HEC of Pakistan; a Master's degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
• At least 6 years of banking experience, including 3 years managing a recovery and/or SME portfolio.
• Sound knowledge of retail and SAM portfolios and awareness of SBP Prudential Regulations.
