Wing Head – Operations (VP) – Banking

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior professional to lead its Operations Wing (VP level) based in Karachi. The role involves overseeing overseas staff, managing compliance, and driving operational excellence across international branches.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of annual objectives, performance appraisals, and staff rotations in collaboration with HR.
• Manage hiring approvals, operational expenses, promotions, transfers, and overseas official visits.
• Coordinate retirement cases, ensure compliance with HR policies, and maintain accurate leave records.
• Prepare agenda papers for Board approvals, supervise salary adjustments, and lead the development of the Overseas Posting Policy.
• Handle lease agreements for overseas branches, facilitate SBP‑mandated training, and support audit, inspection, and compliance activities.
• Supervise Nostro account reconciliations, expense reconciliations, and SBP approvals for fee remittances.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of financial sector experience, with at least 4 years in banking operations, compliance, or internal control.
• Graduation required; Masters degree or relevant professional certifications preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, leadership, and managerial abilities.
