Airline Captain

About the role

The airline is looking for a Captain to conduct assigned flights in line with the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation authority regulations. The Captain ensures safety, security and efficiency on every flight, supports and guides the flight and cabin crew, handles emergencies and ad-hoc situations and takes control of the flight.

Key responsibilities

• Fly the assigned aircraft on schedule and approved flight plans, prioritising safety, then efficiency and passenger comfort
• Ensure flights follow the Operations Manual and regulations, and that the crew is present, fit and legally eligible
• Brief the crew on flight details and liaise with co-pilots and dispatch on aircraft status, route, weather, fuel, weight and role distribution
• Use fuel efficiently within safety limits and carry out safety, security, fuel and transit checks
• Work with maintenance engineers, MCC and MROs to confirm aircraft airworthiness and fix defects
• Load accurate technical logs, journey books, boarding sheets and reports, and keep the Operations Manual current and understood by the crew
• Keep up to date with legal requirements of regulators such as the civil aviation authority and Airbus, and take on ground-based safety or security roles when asked

Required profile

• ATPL licence is mandatory, with a technical and psychometric assessment and medical fitness check passed
• Minimum 4,000 hours of flying, Airbus A320 preferred; low-cost airline experience highly desirable
• Formal safety and emergency response training is essential; crew resource management, airport security procedures and IATA security standards are advantages
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, operations, QA/safety/security/audit procedures and the ability to handle emergencies under heavy workload
• Excellent written and verbal English; other local languages are an advantage
