Business Unit Head - Upwork (AI & Full-Stack Web Development)

About the role

Globo Tech Solutions is looking for an ambitious, results-driven Business Unit Head to lead and scale its Upwork sales and delivery operations. You will drive top-line agency revenue, manage client acquisition, craft winning proposals and oversee end-to-end service delivery across high-demand technical domains such as AI and full-stack web development. The position is office-based and includes a performance-based fast-track promotion path.

Key responsibilities

• Own and scale the agency's Upwork profile(s), keeping a Top Rated Plus / Enterprise status and a 90%+ Job Success Score
• Identify high-value leads ($5k-$50k+ contracts) and run them from proposal to close
• Write tailored, high-converting proposals and technical pitches, and hold discovery calls, technical consultations and negotiations with international clients
• Translate client needs into project scopes and execution plans across AI development, Shopify and headless e-commerce, WordPress, and Next.js and modern web
• Mentor project managers, developers and bidding specialists, ensure timely delivery and smooth handoffs between sales and engineering
• Monitor proposal win rate, average contract value, client retention and monthly recurring revenue

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and growing an Upwork agency or high-revenue freelancer profile with closed contracts
• Exceptional written and spoken English, with strong negotiation and discovery-call skills
• Able to estimate timelines, scope tech stacks and review technical deliverables
• Preferred: client acquisition through Bark.com or similar bidding platforms, and advanced WordPress architecture

Required skills

• AI development and automation (LLMs, AI agents, RAG, LangChain)
• Shopify (standard and headless) and WordPress (custom plugins and themes)
• Next.js and React ecosystem
