Educational Counselor

About the role

Pathways Global Education, an international education consultancy in Lahore, is hiring an Educational Counselor. The counselor is the main student-facing advisor, helping students choose courses and universities abroad, manage their applications and prepare for study overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Assess student needs through one-on-one consultations covering academic background, aspirations, language proficiency and finances.
• Recommend suitable courses, universities and countries based on each student's profile and career goals.
• Manage the application process: document preparation, statement of purpose review, submission and tracking of admission status.
• Prepare students for visa interviews, review supporting documents and give pre-departure orientations on accommodation, culture and compliance.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of consultations and application milestones, and follow up with students and institutions.
• Counsel students and parents clearly and empathetically, explaining procedures, timelines and costs.
• Convert inquiries into confirmed applicants while following ethical advisory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Business or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in education counseling, university placement or student recruitment.
• In-depth knowledge of international higher education systems and destinations such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and the EU.
• Familiarity with student visa requirements, documentation and interview preparation.
• Experience tracking leads, consult notes and application stages.
• Strong English communication skills, attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to handle confidential student data.
