Student Counsellor

About the role

VOKO International Consultant provides visa and immigration guidance to students, families and professionals pursuing opportunities abroad, based in Lahore. It supports study visa applications and related documentation for destinations such as Canada, Australia, the UK, New Zealand, the USA and others. The Student Counsellor guides prospective students through study options and application requirements with accurate, responsive service.

Key responsibilities

• Understand students' academic backgrounds, goals and destination preferences, then explain relevant study pathways and application steps.
• Provide clear guidance on institution and program selection, admission requirements, documentation and study visa processes.
• Review application materials for completeness and accuracy, and coordinate follow-up on missing information.
• Prepare students for interviews and application milestones, explaining what to expect without making guarantees about outcomes.
• Maintain organized records of enquiries, consultations and application progress, handling personal information discreetly.
• Coordinate with internal colleagues and relevant institutions to keep students informed and support timely case progress.
• Deliver professional consultations in person and through appropriate communication channels, following company procedures.

Required profile

• Strong student counselling and client consultation skills, able to identify individual goals and explain suitable study pathways.
• Clear spoken and written communication, active listening, and confidence explaining requirements in a practical, organized way.
• Empathy, patience, professionalism and cultural awareness when supporting students and families.
• Effective case management, record keeping, prioritization and coordination across multiple active enquiries.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical guidance and avoiding promises about admission or visa decisions.

Required skills

• Working understanding of international admissions and study visa documentation processes; familiarity with major destination markets is an advantage.
• Careful document review, accuracy and sound follow-up to track application steps and resolve information gaps.
• Comfort using standard office and digital tools to maintain student records and prepare correspondence.
