Factory Store Assistant (Tin Can Manufacturing)

About the role

We are looking for an organized and disciplined Factory Store Assistant to manage the flow of raw materials and finished metal cans in our tin‑can manufacturing facility. The role involves supervising material receipt, issuing components to production, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply through generator fuel management.

Key responsibilities

• Update the ERP system daily with all incoming raw materials and outgoing production items.
• Unload and verify shipments of metal coils, sheets, chemical lacquers, printing inks and packaging components.
• Issue sheets, handles, lids and other components to the fabrication and printing teams.
• Monitor diesel levels in factory generators and log fuel consumption to avoid power interruptions.
• Ride a motorcycle to local markets to procure emergency spare parts, hardware or store supplies.
• Inspect incoming metal sheets for scratches, rust or transport damage before acceptance.
• Organise heavy metal bundles and chemicals safely following stacking protocols.
• Perform weekly physical counts of finished cans and raw materials and reconcile with ERP records.

Required profile

• Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICOM) or equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing warehouse, preferably in packaging or metal industry.
• Valid motorcycle driving licence and own a reliable motorbike.
• Physical ability to work on a busy factory floor and handle heavy stock.
• Strong attention to detail for counting components and checking fuel gauges.

Required skills

• Basic computer operation.
• Experience using an ERP system or inventory management software.
