Fired Heaters and Furnace Inspectors (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Fired Heaters and Furnace Inspectors for a 12‑month contract to perform comprehensive inspections at refineries or petrochemical plants. The role involves both internal and external assessments of heated equipment, ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external inspections of fired heaters, including radiant and convection sections, burners, stacks, and related components.
• Inspect refractory linings of furnaces, stacks, and fireboxes and evaluate condition for repair or replacement.
• Examine furnace tubes for corrosion, erosion, hot spots, bulging, and sagging; coordinate with NDE examiners for thickness measurements.
• Witness burner and fuel‑gas train inspections, including safety interlock verification.
• Review and interpret fired‑heater drawings, tube layouts, and refractory detail drawings.
• Administer or witness DPT and MPT on furnace tube welds and fittings.
• Witness hydrostatic testing of furnace tube circuits and document results.

Required profile

• API 560 or ASME Section I certification, or equivalent 10 + years of furnace inspection experience.
• Thorough knowledge of API 573, ASME Section I, and related codes applicable to fired heaters and furnaces.
• Proven ability to perform detailed inspections of heaters, refractory, and tube systems.
• Experience coordinating with NDE personnel and interpreting inspection data.
