Junior Accountant

About the role

A.S Enterprises is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Lahore. The role covers core accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, general ledger oversight and tax compliance. It is an individual contributor position with no team management duties, suited to someone building their accounting career.

Key responsibilities

• Process and monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions to keep them accurate and timely.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and update the general ledger so that all financial data is recorded correctly.
• Prepare and post journal entries and manual journal entries, supporting month-end and year-end closing.
• Assist in tax filing and prepare the documentation needed for tax returns, keeping compliance with current regulations and company policies.
• Verify financial information for accuracy and support audits by providing relevant reports and documentation.
• Check financial records against statutory requirements and keep financial files organised for internal and external reviews.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and stay updated on changes in tax regulations.

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting.
• Solid understanding of taxation processes.
• Accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality when handling financial transactions and documents.
