Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Keyway Solutions, a startup focused on mechanical, structural and manufacturing design for international clients, is hiring a full-time, onsite Mechanical Design Engineer in Lahore. The position is open to candidates with at least 1 year of experience, and fresh graduates with CAD proficiency and relevant university projects are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in 3D modeling, assemblies and 2D drawing tasks.
• Support senior engineers in CAD operations and product design.
• Collaborate with the design team to meet project specifications.
• Perform quality control checks on assigned tasks.
• Prepare and update design documentation.
• Take part in reverse engineering and design optimization.
• Give regular progress updates to senior team members.
• Improve SolidWorks and CAD skills through guidance and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1 year of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer is a plus; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and design for manufacturing is a plus.
• Problem-solving, analytical thinking, quick learning and self-organization are essential.
• Effective communication with the team and with clients.
• Must live in Lahore; accommodation is not provided.

Required skills

• CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or CATIA.
• 3D modeling, assemblies, technical drawing, dimensioning and tolerancing.

What we offer

• Salary of 50,000 - 80,000 PKR, paid in the first week of each month.
• Paid annual, sick and casual leave.
• Annual increment of 20-30% if performance goals are met.
• Mentorship from experienced designers and a path to Senior Design or leadership roles.
• Opportunity to sit for the SolidWorks CSWP exam after one year of contract, with the company paying half of the fee (up to $200).

Hiring involves two online interview rounds, an on-site test and a minimum five-day paid on-site trial. A 2-year contractual commitment is mandatory, and a bachelor's degree is held as a security deposit until the contract is fulfilled. Working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
