Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Keyway Solutions LLP, a startup serving international clients in mechanical, structural and manufacturing design, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer based in Lahore. The engineer leads design projects, ensures high-quality deliverables and works full-time on site, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Accommodation is not provided.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage CAD operations, ensuring accurate and efficient 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings.
• Oversee quality control of the project team's design work.
• Collaborate with the CAD Team Lead and Senior Technicians to keep workflow running and deliver projects on time.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians and act as the main SolidWorks and Inventor resource for client projects.
• Support reverse engineering projects and design optimization, and keep clients satisfied with regular updates.
• Develop documentation, workflows and training materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and design for manufacturing; ability to analyse designs for manufacturability, ergonomics, material choice and FMEA.
• Problem-solving, analytical thinking, quick learning, self-organisation and thoughtful leadership.
• Must be willing to commit to a 2-year contract and to a paid on-site trial of at least five days.

Required skills

• CAD software: SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and/or CATIA.
• 3D modelling, assemblies and 2D drawing.

Hiring involves two online interview rounds, an on-site test and a five-day paid trial. The contract is signed on legal stamp paper, and a bachelor's degree is held as a security deposit until the contract obligations are fulfilled.
