Senior Medical Coder

About the role

Bellmedex Pakistan, a healthcare IT and revenue cycle management company, is hiring a full-time, on-site Senior Medical Coder in the Rawalpindi District. The coder reviews clinical documentation, assigns accurate medical codes and ensures compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze patient records and verify medical terminology
• Coordinate with providers to clarify documentation
• Support charge capture and claims submission
• Help resolve coding-related denials
• Contribute to quality assurance and audits
• Guide junior coders
• Work with RCM and billing teams to optimize reimbursement, maintain data integrity and improve processes

Required profile

• Demonstrated medical coding experience across diverse specialties
• Background in Health Information Management, RHIT or equivalent credentials
• Relevant diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding or a related field; advanced certifications are an advantage
• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills
• Effective communication with physicians, billers and RCM teams

Required skills

• Medical terminology and clinical documentation review
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS and payer-specific guidelines
• Experience with EHR systems and billing software; familiarity with RCM workflows is highly beneficial
