Financial Crime Surveillance Officer – Transaction Monitoring (Contract)

About the role

The role is responsible for processing risk events and ensuring compliance with the Assess, Analyse, Act (AAA) policies and processes within Standard Chartered's Financial Crime Surveillance Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Non‑Correspondent Banking Departmental Operational Instruction to process risk events in line with the Assess, Analyse, Act (AAA) process.
• Conduct further analysis and escalations using knowledge of complex products.
• Promote a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, ensuring ethical, legal, regulatory and policy‑compliant conduct.
• Analyse significant financial crime risk events (e.g., non‑compliant transactions, production orders) and report them across relevant jurisdictions.
• Apply Group and Financial Crime Compliance policies (Anti‑Money‑Laundering surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
• Lead Financial Crime Surveillance Operations to achieve outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles.
• Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters collaboratively.

Required profile

• Experience in processing risk events and financial crime surveillance.
• Knowledge of anti‑money‑laundering surveillance, client screening and risk assessment processes.
• Understanding of Group and Financial Crime Compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to embed high ethical standards and promote a risk‑aware culture.
