Team Lead - Accounts

About the role

ebs.ae, a Chartered Accountancy and outsourced financial services firm based in Dubai, UAE, is hiring a Team Lead - Accounts. The role covers financial reporting, accounting operations, tax and regulatory compliance, reconciliation and control, and leading and developing a team of accounting professionals. The working hours are 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and the location is Gulberg 3.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards, and generate management reports and dashboards
• Record and post journal entries, adjustments and accruals in software such as Zoho Books, Tally ERP, QuickBooks and/or Odoo
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance and fixed-asset registers, and handle month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and file VAT returns on time, stay updated on tax law changes, and assist with coordination with internal auditors and tax advisors
• Perform and review bank and inter-account reconciliations, and implement and monitor internal controls
• Lead, train and mentor accounting staff, allocate tasks, monitor performance and give constructive feedback
• Streamline accounting processes, and develop and update accounting manuals, workflows and SOPs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• CA Finalist / CA Inter / ACCA part-qualified highly preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Proven track record in an accounting firm or corporate finance department is advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is a plus

Required skills

• MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); advanced Excel is a plus
• Working knowledge of Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally ERP, Odoo, Xero or similar platforms
• Understanding of bookkeeping, IFRS/GAAP and UAE VAT regulations
